Tomos Flexer Queston

Hello, I have recently bought a tomos flexer and I was gonna adjust the chain today, my chain adjusters are very different in place but the tire is still straight and the chain has around 15mm play when the moped is on its stand. But my exhaust pipe (Tecno Bos) is rubbing against the right rear axel nut and the stand so I am wondering if this is the case with all the performance pipes or are there any pipes that give me some more space for the stand and the rear axle? Also when I sit on the moped and touch the chain it is very very tight. Is this supposed to be like this?

Chain should have some play and definitly shouldn't be very tight. And for the exhaust, I used to have the same problem. I fixed it by putting some washers between the exhaust mount and the exhaust itself.

I found a small ratchet so i could remove the exhaust. My tire is now quite straight, maybe a tiny bit bent but its barely noticable. I got more space for the exhaust when i mounted it back on for some reason.. So now the only thing that i need to look over is chain tension, it has a little bit of play when its standing on its tires and even lesser when i sit on it. Definetily not 15mm though

Your chain should have aprox. 20 mm play (10 mm in both ways) in the middle between the sprockets when on the stand. When you sit on your Tomos the play would be less, because of the pivot point of your rear swingarm. That's normal

When I sit on the moped straight up and touch the chain it is very tight. I think I'm gonna loosen the rear tire tomorrow. My chain adjusters are od, they are not different they both look the same and both fit on the left side, identical so.

The chain adjusters don't have to be different for left and right side. Some have equal, some have opposite adjusters on their Tomos. For what they are intended to do there's no difference.

Only thing what is important is that your chain don't curve because of bad alignment due to play in the pivot point in your rear swingarm or bad alignment of the sprockets because the rear wheel looks to be aligned in the swingarm, but the frame is twisted or bend (because of accident and/or fatigue e.g.). The chain must be straight when looking over the top of the chain from the rear sprocket to the front.

Does the play of the chain tighten and loosen when you turn the rearwheel when your Tomos is on the stand? When this is present 1 or both sprokets may be not correctly centered (most common when using cheap imitation parts) when manufactured.

Adjust the play of your chain to 20mm when on a stand when none of the above apply. A little more or less play is no problem, the chain will stretch in time and you need to re-ajust the play to the correct mm. When sprockets and chain needs to been replaced, always do this all together because the parts do wear on each other. When using an old chain and new sprockets and vice versa, the wear will increase to the new part and decreases lifetime.

I can upload a picture or a video of how the chain is, when i check the condition of the chain i like to pull the chain on the rear sprocket and if I see more than half a tooth of the rear sprocket there needs to be a new chain. I cant see nothing so the chain is pristine.
