Hello,

sorry first of all for the language but i´m from Germany.
I bought yesterday a Used A35 1D but the Tomas gots to much air and runs not very smooth.

I checked the Air filter and i think that maybe a part is missing. I checked the whole internet but i didn´t find a parts catalog where the parts are listed and pictured. Only A35 with the wrong air filter.

For better understanding i´ve attached some pictures where you can see the end air filter inside that plastic thing is a 222651 Air Filter shown...

That airbox is not common for Tomos in the Netherlands. Btw, I've moved your topic to our foreign part of the forum.

I've found a reseller for the part number you've mentioned. See here so everyone can see how it looks like out of the housing.

If you want to replace this airfilterbox, you might change to a mesh filter (Netzfilter in german) like it is on a normal Dellortho SHA carburettor when you buy this separately. About the housing of this filter, how is it attached to your Tomos? Can you provide some more pictures of it so we understand why Tomos used this filter box instead of the regular one we know. I see it has D25 on it, where does the air go in, just that little opening on the side or is that just to fix it to the frame or else? Is the Tomos a moped (45 kmh)of mofa (25 kmh)?

About your complaint about not running smooth of the engine, can you provide more information about the spark plug color (as in the electrodes and heat range (e.g. Bosch uses codes like W7AC or similar)). When they are black and greasy the adjustment is too rich, when white/ grey too lean. Also the type of ignition (contactpoint, 2 spool electronic or 4 spool electronic) does indicate to what info we should give you about how to check setting and how to adjust them.

I just made two picture which shows the air filter system.
I need the whole system new it think.

Do you saw that system somewhere ?

Hmmmm, quit an interesting setup you've got there. I've actually never seen such a setup on a Tomos here in Holland.(With the carburator on the drive side and a hose? as an airfilter) Also, Are you sure it's an A35? Looks more like a s25 to me(Because of the mounting brackets on the side of the frame)(or the type identifications are different in different parts of the world). If it is a S25 you might want to consider changing the manifold for a short straight one so that the carburator fits on top of the engine like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/UiYHgdUoFtw/maxresdefault.jpg

It would fit on a Dellortho. Not quit sure on the one you're using tho..

Yes it´s very crazy but the system looks like it should be.
On the first pictures you´ll find the small air filter box which will connect to the silver plug at the last picture.

Thanks for the links but that´s not the system either.

The Bike is an A35 A1D from Tomos Manf Year 1996

The whole system is now clear to me, it's a genuine S25 (25 kmh mofa) setup with carburettor to the left side of the frame. Tomos used a Bing carburettor instead of a Dellortho or Encarwi one. As long as this works, there is no problem. The system has been on our forum before, like here. It's in dutch, but it has pictures and maybe you can understand what is been written there.

In your case, you can check for a clogged carburettor and/ or jet (cleaning it out), clogged air filter (just renew or leave it out to test only!), wrong adjustment of the ignition, a combination of things or a case of that air does comes into the system where it's not supposed to. That last thing may be investigated by using the so called "deodorant test". When you spray some of it around the connections where the carburettor is fixed to the intake manifold (when engine is running) and your rpm changes at a specific point when you spray, there you have a leakage of air (in Dutch it's "valse lucht", in German "Falschluft "?)

Like i mentioned before, can you provide information about the color of the spark plug electrodes? Have you already figured out your type of ignition? In some cases the setting of the timing is off. By adjusting it sometimes the complaints will be solved.

In your case you have iron type engine covers, right? To switch to a right side mounted Dellortho is no option because you will have problems with remounting the covers, and/ or the carburettor doesn't fit with a air filter because the mounting point are lower than a frame with plastic covers. Only option is like kinderbrueno mentions to use a straight intake manifold when mounting a Dellortho between frame and engine like his links. This is an Encarwi and egg-shaped cylinder, so not a good example for your cylinder. Yours is more like this:
